| About the Riviera and us |
Riviera Hunt has been created in 2008, recognizing the need to assist foreigners in purchasing Real Estate in the French Riviera.
Indeed, the French Riviera has welcomed people from all over the world for millennia, without exaggeration, due to its truly unique attractiveness.
Its clement skies (over 300 days of sun per year), its location between the mountains and the sea, the world famous cities (Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Grasse, Antibes) and villages (St Paul de Vence, Eze, Villefranche sur Mer, Biot, Vallauris...) all contribute to make the French Riviera a really special place.
|
If you add in, the presence of France's 2nd International airport (after Paris), the countless world class restaurants and hotels, the superb medical care available, the incredible cultural life, myriad attractions and sports, not to mention the famed French "way of life", it is definitely one of the very best places in the world to own a piece of real estate.

After a few years in the IT business and working abroad in London, Cyprus, Canada and California, he successfully created his Internet start-up in the French Riviera.
He then started his company providing private concierge services to visitors of la Côte d'Azur. This gave him the opportunity to work closely with people from all over the world, who rented prestige villas for the holidays. Many of these visitors told him how they appreciated being assisted by a competent local, working by their side in an unfamiliar environment.
All these experiences naturally led him to create Riviera Hunt and help International buyers achieve the ultimate dream, own a property on the French Riviera. |

THE PRINCIPALITY OF MONACO
This principality is a sovereign state of only 8 square miles.
It consists of Monaco (the old town, perched on Le Rocher), Monte Carlo (where the casino is located, developed between the late 19th and early 20th centuries and since then expanded), La Condamine (which links them) and Fontvieille (the newest section, named after the Provençal village of Fontvieille of Daudet fame).
In the 19th century, the stones used for the building of Monte Carlo were imported from Fontvieille quarries. The native Monegasques pay no income taxes and are exempt from military service.
The exact origin of the Grimaldi family is disputed, but it is most likely that they were an influential family from Genoa, in other words, not of French origin, but Savoyan or Italian, if you like.
The oldest part of the Palace, which is gray in color and the first part that you will see when you approach, is dating from the 13th century, while the other parts, in which the family actually lives, were added in the 15th and 16th centuries.
The square in front of the Palace (Place du Palais) is ornamented with cannons given to the Prince of Monaco by Louis XIV. The situation of the Palace is, of course outstanding in that it overlooks the indented coastline east and west of Monaco.
As everyone knows, the ruling Prince was Rainier III, born in 1923, and married to the late Grace Kelly on April 19, 1956. Their oldest son Prince Albert-Louis Alexandre, born at Monaco in 1958 became the ruler in 2008, and he has two sisters, Princesses Caroline and Stephanie.
